At a turning point in my life, broke and living in a "gentrification" district, I "stumbled" across the book Lucky You by Randall Fitzgerald. It chronicled many amazing cases of luck, along with evidence consistent with your posting, Jennifer.
Significantly for this story, the author talked about the luck of his close childhood friend, whom he named and described. A month later, I was intuitively led to apply for a job which seemed like a perfect fit. And there was a twist!
After what I deemed to be a second successful interview, I learned that THAT SAME FRIEND had been my predecessor in this very job.
I reached into my briefcase, grabbed the book, plopped it down onto the Vice President's desk, and said, "I know I'm the right person for this job, and soon you'll know it too. Open that book to page number (x)!"
As he did so, he eyes widened, and stayed wide as he handed me back the book.
Several days later, I got the job on the terms and conditions I wanted. It changed my life, and proved to be my last job.
