You are a very sensitive soul. I am reminded of the time when, in a period of apparent enlightenment, I could not kill swarms of invasive insects from my home, but could only gently sweep them outside.

My present "less enlightened" view is that the concept of ahimsa is skewed. Specifically, those who believe they are practicing it may fail to consider the countless microorganisms they kill through the simple process of living.

I will admit that I eat meat, accepting it as a personal moral failing, and long for that near future time when inexpensive vat meat eliminates all of the horrors and environmental damage associated with "factory farming".

Regardless, we humans must coexist with Nature; its wildness wisely managed so both can thrive. Nature is beautiful, but harsh.
